Today it is evident that traditional culture and knowledges have been exploited by everybody for decades, and mostly by Western cultural industries earning on it enormously high profits, while peoples and communities that created, cultivated and preserved it – have nothing.
Thus, in short, could be presented the essence of yesterday’s discussion on traditional culture and knowledge, the second in a series of tribunes titled ”Copyrights in Culture”, held at the Belgrade Cultural Center. In the organization of Balkan Kult, the regional association for cultural co-operation, of the essence of this important topic, the world’s trends in that area, possible models of legal protection of traditional cultures and knowledges, as well as of the need for creating in our country our database, spoke yesterday Dimitrije Vujadinovic, Aleksandar Petrovic, Emil Markov, Emina Kulenovic Grujic, Dragoslav Mihajlovic, Dimitrije Golemovic, Miodrag Markovic, Dragan Antonic, Mima Živkovic, Sofija Arsic, Jelena Jovanovic and Gordana Ajdukovic.
