The story relates not only obvious problems with the cold climate, but also the complex problems posed by well-meaning authorities, as well as some unwelcome resistance.

Family Files won the Main Prize in the National Competition of Long Documentary in Tampere Film Festival 2002.g. A Documentary about the director's family in northern Finland based on grandmother's letters. The letters revealed patterns of life, pain and death that were to be repeated in the next generation-during the making of the documentary, two of the director's second cousins committed suicide, a year apart. The film also explores questions that go beyond this family; it is about Finnish culture and even the universal human condition.

Even though they are forbidden to attend international games, a Danish coach has dedicated himself to train this group of enthusiastic but partly unprofessional Tibetan players.
