The Balkankult Foundation, has organized, for the seventh time in a row, The Nordic Panorama Film Festival, which takes place in Belgrade and throughout Serbia. In recent years interest in documentaries has grown throughout the world, and the Nordic countries are no exception. Documentaries are important for the development of democracy and human rights. The authors of documentaries have brought stories about places and people for years. Great documentaries open our eyes, or force us to think, lead to changes. At festivals such as the Nordic Panorama you become more aware of the significant short film art form that is evolving and is incredibly inspiring. Many great filmmakers have made their first steps in a short film - and many great filmmakers also make short films. Nordic Panorama will give us another opportunity to get in touch with the latest ideas of young filmmakers - and the works of established, experienced and recognized artists. In a time of increased globalization and monotony it is more important than ever to embrace the diversity of the world and certainly many of these short documentaries will have touched the audience.Nordic Panorama '10, is held in Belgrade, Hall of the Belgrade Cultural Center and Cultural Center "Studenstki Grad" from the 11th to the 15th of February, 2010.At the festival, 35 (about 850 minutes) of the best documentaries, short and animated films from the Nordic region will be shown, and the program content is based on the 20th Nordisk Panorama - 5 Cities Film Festival, which was held in Reykjavik from the 25 to the 30th of September 2009.Many of the films that are shown have been awarded at various festivals, such as Elkland (Student Academy Award for foreign film), Seeds of the Fall (special jury award at the International Critics Week at Cannes), Anna (Best Nordic Feature Film Festival in Reykjavik), English Lessons (prize at the festival in Tampere) and many others. The festival program was created by two experts from the Nordic film industry and the Balkan region, Jing Haas, associate of Filmkontakt Nord and Marin Maleševic, film director. After the Belgrade Festival, it has also been organized in more than twenty cities across Serbia (Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Nis, Leskovac, Sopot, Obrenovac, Lazarevac, Gornji Milanovac, Pancevo).
