Exhibition "The Ancient Roman Heritage in Vojvodina Over Time"

City Museum of Sombor

he Balkankult Foundation from Belgrade and the City Museum of Sombor have opened a new exhibition "The Ancient Roman Heritage in Vojvodina Over Time" in the exhibition spaces of the museum.The exhibition was opened by Mr. Branimir Mitrovic, the vice president of the Assembly of Vojvodina.
The exhibiton authors are:
Mirjana Rankovic, applied artist from Belgrade
Maja Djordjevic, archaeologist, at the Republic Instititue for the Protection of Monuments of Culture, Belgrade
The exhibiton will be open from November 4 - 27, 2010.
The exhibition consists of two segments.
The first part of the exhibition consists of modern jewelery created by Mirjana Rankovic, inspired by the spirit of ancient Rome and the shapes of Roman jewelery that has been excavated by archaeologists in this region.
The second part of the exhibition was created based on the recently published book by archaeologist Maja Djordjevic called "Archaeological sites in Vojvodina from the Ancient Roman Period".
