New project
The Balkankult Foundation is partner of Iwano Project Foundation in the realization of the project: "Development of small private museums as a family business". The reasons for collecting art can vary as widely as the personalities and passions of collectors themselves. As the Viennese writer Stefan Zweig once remarked, ‘In collecting, taste itself can be creative. Those for whom the written word falls short can express their character as value and their taste in concrete form through a collection of art, and in this way leave their mark’. It is important to assign cultural facilities with a higher prominence in order to promote their attractiveness and to heighten the role of the local actors and private collectors. Through the exchange of experiences we aim to specify the role of ‘New Museums’ in social cohesion and local development. Â
